The UPTET selection procedure begins once a candidate registers for the exam and then qualifies the required cutoff set by the governing board. Here is a brief explanation on the categories of Government Teachers.
There is a lot of difference in TGT, PGT and PRT Categories.
PRT – Can teach up to 5th Grade
TGT – Can teach up to 10th Grade
PGT – Can teach only 11th and 12th Grade

UPTET is the initial step to becoming a Government teacher. Without a Teacher Training Certificate, this usually is not possible. The UPTET Teacher Training certificate is valid for a period of 5 years.
